Professional Development Director
The Professional Development Director of the Diversity Roundtable of Central Indiana shall have responsibility for planning and executing professional development opportunities at regular meetings. These brief (60 or 90 minute) interactive and experiential workshops are intended to increase the diversity competencies of members and expose them to resources, consultants and facilitators who may be of value to member organizations as paid consultants. Ideally, the Director will have a large network of diversity resources to draw from or will form a committee consisting of 3 to 5 members of the Roundtable. Responsibilities of the Professional Development Director include, but are not limited to:• Assess professional development needs of the membership
• Identify and recruit a cadre of high quality workshop leaders with expertise relevant to the professional development needs of the membership
• Deliver/sponsor diversity-related professional development workshops at regular meetings of the DRTCI
• Establish network of workshop and training facilitators that may be useful to member organizations as paid consultants
• Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Community Relations in identifying potential presenters and issues to be addressed at Annual Diversity event
• Propose an annual budget. Once approve by the Board of Directors, the Professional Development Director is empowered to authorize expenditures that fall within the approved budget without further action by the Board
• The Professional Development Director is responsible for uploading speaker documents to the members area of the website within a week of the speaker’s presentation
• The Director is responsible for approving final selection of monthly facilitators and work with the Secretary to ensure the necessary logistical arrangements are made
